Arsenal Ready To Move For £8m German Ace - Player Report

Per Mertesacker has been a massive player for Arsenal since his arrival. The big German is a natural born leader and has rallied his troops since his landing in 2011 and it looks like that the future of the Germany national side could be his long term partner at the Emirates. The Mirror say that Arsene Wenger is after Freiburg's Matthias Ginter and his scouts have been keeping a close eye on him.

But who is he and what could he offer the north London side?

Still only 20, Ginter is a centre-half who is more than comfortable on the ball as he has a background of operating in the centre of midfield. Although he is a big, powerful player and is able to muscle people off the ball, he can also skip past an opponent or pick a pass.

The reports say that a bid of £8m will be enough to get things rolling, and I think that would be a superb deal for the Gunners.

Arsenal's centre-back situation is a tough one. Although Mertesacker and Koscielny are hugely talented and Thomas Vermaelen can also pull his weight, but all three are quite old in terms of a professional footballer.

For me it would be a brilliant move.
