Chelsea Ace Linked With Real Madrid Move, But Mourinho Would Be Foolish To Let Him Leave

Thibaut Courtois has been on loan at Atletico Madrid, from Chelsea, for the past two seasons and has performed very well between the sticks. His continued form has earned him a place in Belgium's starting 11 and he is likely to be the number 1 for their World Cup campaign this summer. That's not bad for a 21-year-old, is it?

I fimly believe that Courtois should be at Chelsea.

Petr Cech has had a tremendous career at Stamford Bridge, winning three Premier League titles, numerous FA Cup's and two European trophies. However, since his unfortunate head injury against Reading, he has not quite been the same keeper. In my view, anyway.

That is no fault of his own, as an injury as serious as his can easily affect performance for a long period of time.

Rumours today that Courtois has agreed to sign for Real Madrid come as a huge surprise to me. though they have since been rubbished by his father. He is only 21 years of age and if you look at the longevity of goalkeepers these days, such as Brad Friedel, Courtois could easily be at Chelsea for up to and over a decade.

He stands at 6'6 but also has the agility to make saves from the most difficult positions. The clip below will tell you more about the youngster, but I certainly think the west London club would be foolish to let him go.
