Podolski Hails Arsenal Team Spirit, But Can It Win Them The Title?

For a team looking to win the Premier League, having divisions in the squad will almost certainly result in them not winning the league. Team spirit is such an important attribute to a team that actually goes unnoticed by fans. Which is a shame because while a team may have the best players, if they can't work well together, then it can only get you so far.

Arsenal have a squad which in my eyes is weaker than Manchester City's and also Chelsea's in many areas, but not all. However, what has kept them so high up in the table is the fight they show and willingness to help their team mates when in trouble. Obviously, you can't win a league based solely on team spirit but it still shouldn't be taken into account.

Goal have taken snippets of an interview that Lukas Podolski made on Arsenal's official website which captures him discussing how good the team spirit is.

A rather disappointing couple of weeks was put to an end, for now, as Arsenal trounced Sunderland 4-1. Previous to that was defeats to Bayern Munich and Liverpool and a draw against Manchester United. However, a victory over Liverpool, in the FA Cup, briefly raised spirits before they hosted Bayern Munich.

A club with low team spirit would perhaps continue their run of bad form for a couple more weeks until they get a victory. In Arsenal's case, with their high team spirits, bounced back from the Bayern game with a big victory. They did it earlier in the season when they were beaten by Manchester City 6-3.

While quality means a lot in today's game, it will only get you so far - togetherness in the team will push you over the finishing line. Arsenal could win the league, if it weren't for their main rivals also experiencing togetherness in the ranks.
