THREE Manchester United Players Who Need to Be Dropped After Olympiakos Defeat

Hands up who saw that one coming? I certainly did. Manchester United's shoddy form continued tonight as they fell to a 2-0 loss to Olympiakos in the Champions League. It was another sluggish performance from the Red Devils, so here are three players who I think deserve to lose their place in the side.

    1) Rio Ferdinand

The loppy centre-half was atrocious tonight and I for one hope he is shown the door this summer. Every time an Olympiakos player ran at him he was left in no man's land and every time he went up for a header he had to climb all over his opponent to get anywhere near it.

His touch was dreadful and his positioning wasn't much better, and for me his game was summed up when the ball bounced off him in the late stages and in turn he completely wiped a player out receiving a yellow card for his troubles.

    2) Tom Cleverley

How this player is still at United is beyond me. He's no longer a promising youngster nor is he a player with a proven track record - all he does is knock simple two or three yard passes and slow down the tempo of the United attacks.

He's weak on the ball and rash in the tackle, and as much energy that he does have he certainly doesn't use it to his advantage.

    3) Ashley Young

Moyes is intent on getting the best out of the former Aston Villa winger but it just isn't happening. The way he runs at defenders makes him easy to read and it's rare that he actually beats his man, while his delivery is also quite poor.

His game is based around a willingness to dribble with the ball at his feet but because he's in a spiral of poor form it looks to be eating away at his confidence, which as a result is making him worse.
