Former Arsenal Boss Wants Weakened Side vs Bayern - So Do I

Arsenal fell to a 2-0 loss when they took to the field with current Champions League holders Bayern Munich last week, but it was nothing to be embarrassed about.

The Bavarians are a formidable force and Arsenal had them on the back foot for large parts of the game, but after being sent down to 10 it was always going to be one way traffic.

The second leg is quickly approaching, and a former Arsenal boss has urged Arsene Wenger to rest some of his big players in order to concentrate on their Premier League title chase.

George Graham has expressed his feelings via the Daily Mail and has revealed that he would select a weakened side because the first game was like a practice match.

I would probably agree, too. For me the Arsenal fans have waited too long to see their team win a trophy, and if they are to do that I think the Premier League is the one they should be aiming for.

They have topped the table for the majority of the season and are still up there fighting for the crown, and I think the Champions League could knock some steam out of them if they continue running their best players into the ground.

I would leave Ozil, Giroud and Mertesacker out of the side, and play the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lukas Podolski and Thomas Vermaelen.

Gooners, would you be happy with Wenger playing a weakened side?
