Poyet Gives Ozil Advice - Here's Why I Agree With Sunderland Boss

Mesut Ozil is a player who has split opinions across the country over the last couple of months. The German came into the club for a record fee over the summer and hit the ground running in terms of form. However, having now played a huge amount of games in his debut season he is now looking burned out and his displays have not been as strong, and his penalty miss last night seemed to be the boiling point for many people.

Despite the fact he ran more than any other player and despite the fact he won the penalty in the first place, people are picking his performances apart with malice.

Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has also given his two pence worth, suggesting that he needs a rest to return back to his former self.

It may be an attempt to get Wenger to bench him ahead of their clash with Sunderland at the weekend, but I actually agree with the former Brighton boss.

Ozil has missed just two league games since he joined the club and is by far and away their leading chance creator. Everything goes through him when the Gunners go forward and I think it's time that they look for another outlet - perhaps Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

    Step up, Ox.

Thats a lot of tosh Poyet should concentrate on his team. Ozil is a professional and barr injury if called upon he should play. Gas should not enter mind games because in the end he will get embarassed.

Absolutely Ozil needs rest and take care of big matches, but needs good striker partnership in front to deliver.
Thanks Ozil your apology accepted and pray you pick your form soon.
    Thanks

I agree that Ozil needs a rest, but why pay 40+ million for a player if he doesn't perform when called upon?

He needs to learn that the English game is demanding and that HE was bought because the manager (and most of the league, fans and players alike) thinks he is the best in the world. THIS is why CR7 and Messi are so great, always on form, even if they play every single week. He needs to wake up and realize that his potential and peoples perception of him mean absolutely nothing if he's not consistent.
