Chelsea Enter Race For Ligue 1 Playmaker, But What Could He Offer? Player Report

There are plenty of young players floating about Europe right now looking to establish themselves in the game. Whether that be at top clubs or their local outfits - their goals are probably the same. One player who has impressed with his talent on the pitch, but not so much with his antics off of it, is Marseille playmaker Florian Thauvin. You may not know a lot about the 21-year-old, but according to the Express we could be seeing him in the Premier League next season.

The reports suggest that Chelsea have now entered the running for the youngster, but Manchester United, Arsenal and Spurs are all keeping an eye on him, with the latter having a January bid turned down.

The reason I mention his previous behaviour off the pitch is because of the way he acted to get his move to current side Marseille. After signing for Lille, he then went on loan to Bastia but he then went on strike to secure a move.

It was a move that I didn't like. He is an exceptionally talented player, though. Thauvin has played 20 Ligue 1 games this season and has 20 key passes to his name, as well as six goals.

He is a player who continuously looks to receive the bal and never shies away from the big games. He has a strong awareness, a sublime technique and can spark something out of nothing, and for me he would fit nicely into the current Chelsea side.

This video will show you a little bit more than my words.
