Manchester United Star Set For Summer Exit - Here's Why Moyes Should Be Looking To Keep Hold

The walls seem to be falling down at Old Trafford right now. On the back of Sir Alex Ferguson's departure Manchester United have suffered a chaotic season and it is up to David Moyes to settle things down. He has signed Juan Mata in order to do so, but there are a number of players who are out of contract in the summer and I expect to see a major overhaul of the squad. One of those players who could be on his way out is Patrice Evra, who has served the club for nearly nine seasons.

The France international has made almost 400 first team appearances for the club and has been the first choice left-back for almost the entire time he has been at the club. He has also helped United win five Premier League trophies, five Community Shields and three League Cups. He also has a Champions League winners medal from the 2007/08 season.

However, according to the Manchester Evening News, Evra is still set to leave the club in the summer.

For me it's a huge blow for United, as his experience and influence around the squad could be sorely missed. David Moyes has been on the lookout for a left-back, apparently, with names such as Leighton Baines, Luke Shaw and Fabio Coentrao being mooted around the local pubs, but even if it is as second choice I think they should be doing everything they can to hold onto Evra.

    United fans, do you agree?

Evra has been a good servant but his defensive skills began to deteriorate 2 years ago and he is now adequate at best. ManU needs to replace Rio, Vidic and Evra with young quality defenders who, hopefully, will be with the team for 10 years are longer. The defense should be the priority not attacking midfielders.
Nana, Fletcher,Evans and Young should be sold to make way for young players.
