Liverpool Star Ready To Leave In The Summer - Here's Why Reds Need Not Worry

Pepe Reina won the hearts of Liverpool fans pretty quickly when he arrived at Anfield back in 2005 and went onto be one of the finest goalkeepers they had ever had in some people's eyes. His typically-Spanish style injected composure into the defenders in front of him and was a massive reason why he went onto play almost 400 games for the Merseyside club. However, things turned sour last season.

With Brendan Rodgers preferring others in goal, Reina made a loan switch to Napoli to work with former boss Rafa Benitez and it has proved to be a good move for him.

He has been vital to the Serie A club's success this season and it seems that he is happy there, too - he has been quoted saying that he is prepared to leave Liverpool on a permanent at the end of the season.

But should Rodgers be looking to keep hold? Not in my opinion.

Simon Mignolet has stood tall between the sticks this season for the Reds, and although he's probably not as technical as the Spain international he is more than good enough to play in the Champions League in my eyes.

There are also a host of keepers across Europe who are younger than Reina who could provide just as much he he could. Ter Stegen and Ron-Robert Zeiler spring to mind.

Reina may be leaving in the summer, but Liverpool need not worry.
