Suarez to Napoli, Liverpool to sign Brazilian midfielder and Juventus to swoop for Manchester City pair - Gossip round up

The Mirror are reporting that Luis Suarez will be approached by Napoli as new manager Rafa Benitez searches for someone able to replace Edinson Cavani, who is on the cusp of a move away from the Serie A club. Benitez, still a favourite at Anfield, risks the wrath of the Kop despite the majority of them already accepting the Uruguayan won't be around next season, but Brendan Rodgers is working on building a midfield who can replace the goals that Suarez will be leaving behind.

The same paper are reporting that the Reds have began talks with Gremio's defensive midfielder Matheus Biteco to steady the balance as Steven Gerrard, Philippe Coutinho and new signing Iago Aspas provide the ammunition, as well as Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Christian Atsu and Luis Alberto if the Irishman can get his hands on them.

Exciting times for the Reds, potentially.

Elsewhere in the Premier League Manchester City are bracing themselves as Serie A champions Juventus are reportedly ready to make a double swoop for Argentine pair Pablo Zabaleta and Carlos Tevez. The Daily Mail report that the Turin side are already in discussions regarding a £9m move for Tevez, but are preparing a move for Zabaleta in the near future.

The move may hinge on whether or not new City manager Manuel Pellegrini is willing to lose his men, but you get the feeling that it will take something special to convince the striker to stay on for another season.
