Monaco set sights on Chelsea defender

With the ever growing financial doping in football, Monaco are conforming to type and bidding for every player who played well this year, which means they’re eyeing up the big Serb Chelsea defender, Branislav Ivanovic.

With the double signings of James Rodriquez and Joao Moutinho last Friday at a reported combined fee of around £60 million, with Joao signed to a new club, WHO WILL Tottenham be constantly linked with and miss out on now!? Also, it seems to be a done deal, subject to a medical reportedly taking place today that Radamel Falcao will join the newly promoted Ligue 1 team, mainly due to his third party ownership, not really for the footballing challenge, with his fee being valued at £51.3 million and earning a huge amount a year in a tax haven and a rather beautiful city, cushty life, ‘ey?

But with the inklings of a top heavy team forming with more of the attacking talent that Europe has to offer, Claudio Ranieri seeks to add bodies at the back and with a £25 million bid being prepared for Branislav, who scored the winner in the Europa league final to secure Chelsea as “Champions of Europe” again, his value will be sky high as he has probably become Chelsea’s best defender after his fine year, and the only likely defender to sacrificed is David Luiz and Mourinho wants to bring Raphael Varane with him to London when he inevitably signs. Vincent Kompany has also been targeted to join the Monaco revolution but with the bid instantly rejected, it’s not like either City or Chelsea are cash strapped and couldn’t cope with saying no to a big bid from another club.
