Manchester United: Inject Pace On The Wings, Push Fellaini Forward And Keep Jones As DM For Villa Clash

Manchester United travel to Aston Villa today looking to rekindle the form that they have shown in the Champions League and shoot themselves up the table. Villa's home form hasn't been the greatest this season but with United's struggles it'll be no easy win for the Old Trafford side. So, having played Championship manager back in 2001, here is my two pence worth.

Firstly, United need pace on the wings to deal with Villa's counter-attacking threat. With Gabriel Agbonlahor leading the breaks, I would stick Wilfried Zaha and Adnan Januzaj on the flanks to provide a bit of cover for the United midfield.

Secondly, I would push Marouane Fellaini further up the pitch. Some say that he's at his best in a defensive facility, but he's proven that isn't the case with a string of average performances so far this season.

Allowing him to sit in a more advances role could lure his passing ability and his creativity out of him.

Lastly, I would keep Phil Jones in the anchorman role. The England international was superb against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League in the week and was crucial to United collecting the win.

Not only did he score the winner, but he also won five headers, made four interceptions and completed 90% of his 60 passes.
