Loic Remy to fire QPR to safety (Video)

A man who has been linked with almost every Premier League team over the last few years, Loic Remy has finally made his way to English shores.

Originally destined for Newcastle United, a bizarre series of events saw Remy eventually agree to sign for the Premier League’s bottom side QPR.  The motives of the player have been called into question by several disgruntled fans and pundits, but the fact of the matter is that the shirt he will wear has hoops and not stripes.

After coming through Lyon’s academy, Remy played little more than a handful of games for their senior side before leaving for approximately €8 million.  Despite not scoring a goal for the club, Lyon won the Ligue 1 title in both of his seasons with the first team.

With almost identical goal-scoring records in the league with both Nice and Marseille, the striker found the net every two and a half games during his time in the south of France.  Such great personal success in his homeland saw Remy attract the attention of several European clubs, with his name often linked with any club in search of a goal-scorer.

Tony Fernandes and Harry Redknapp have made their first move in QPR’s fight for Premier League survival. Will Loic Remy prove to be the man that keeps them up?
