It's time Wenger's Welsh Wizard waves goodbye to North London

Many, many fellow Gooners will disagree with what I have to say, but I feel that this Summer Arsene Wenger should cash in on inconsistent midfielder Aaron Ramsey while he still has some value.

Yes it could come back to haunt Arsene but this season Ramsey has been blowing hot and cold, and far too often it has been the latter.

On Sunday he only came on for the remaining 12 minutes but during that time he managed to squander a superb chance to double Arsenal's lead when he selfishly blazed wide with Robin Van Persie in acres of space.

Of course for a while fans of the Welsh captain could point to his horrific injury he received at Stoke last season which I agree affected him on his return, but it has been over a year since his comeback and that excuse has long gone.

Registering just three goals from midfield in 39 appearences is not an amazing record from someone who gets as many chances as Ramsey does and with Tomas Rosicky's improving form and Alex Song's consistently superb performances Ramsey is becoming the weak link of the midfield trio.

I am sure that when Jack Wilshere finally returns from injury Wenger will go with Song holding midfield and Rosicky and Wilshere playing just in front.

He cost the club £5,000,000 when we took him from Cardiff nearly four years ago and now his value is probably still above what we paid for him, but if his performances this season continue through to next then it will drop, rapidly.

If Wenger was to sell the former Bluebird and invest the money in improving the squad then I for one would be delighted.

Thanks for all you have done Aaron, but for me, your time gracing the Emirates pitch is up.

Ramsey has been through hell, pissoff!

i think we would be crazy to let rambo leave.
    - i seem to recall the same was said about alex song when he broke into the team( that he wasnt good enough) . i would rather rely on wengers judgment than the fickle fans. leave rambo alone or get behind him i reckon he will turn out to be an excellent signing for many years

it seems we are getting rid of the negavtive supporters at the grove and the atmosphere has improved so much. no more booing of the players or groaning of a missed place pass. its not a coinsidence that the results have been better and the players have noticed the improved atmosphere too.

How about Ramsey staying and you leaving. you are not a scout and not a judge on talent, stop trying to be one

It's time for 'footballfriends online" to wave goodbye. You now look like a twat.

Footballers coming from injuries like that have a subconscious fear of getting that injury again. He is rushing his play. When he shoots or when he passes. Selling him would be about the dumbest things someone could do for a player who is so talented. He is still contributing to the team. I would suggest you look at our performances against Chelsea and Stoke where he was fantastic. Also perhaps a CL game against Marseille where he didnt score as he created tons of chances. He is a player who lost hsi mentor this year (Speed). He is 21 captain of his national team and he is palying for Arsenal. A club whose fans are morons(I am an arsenal fan) with regard to how they treat there players. Eboue (a RB who played a CL final and was instrumental in getting us there), Walcott (double digits this season and 5 goals in his last 8), Alex Song (first season). Get of your high horse. I want him to sit on the bench next season and learn his game from Arteta and how to control a game.Selling a guy who is mroe naturally talented than Cleverly at United would be a mistake. Curiously United fans didnt boo nani when he was crap. Look at him now willing to fight for them.

Michael cox your are a nob, how many players of his age are playing often in a top four team and also captain their country. I agree with you that he has been a bit inconsistent but he has real quality and i would sooner trust Wenger's judgement then yours.

Another Arsenal fan who plays too much football manager.

What a pile of crap, you are a moron!

"With Tomas Rosicky's improving form". Erm, how long did it take Rosicky to come back to form after his injuries? You're slating Ramsey but praising Rosicky? That's why this is a totally rubbish article and you, mr Cox, should keep your stupid opinions to yourself. Time to hide footballmoronsonline from my arsenal news now feed.

Can I ask how old you are, sunshine?
I despair of so-called fans like you...

Sir, go jump in big hole, so you cant get access to PC and write crap like this.
As much i restrain my self to use bad language in my posts, in this case i can not.

Rambo's problem is a familiar one in Arsenal.. young players with potential given starting 11 spot without hving to fight/earn the right to be 1st team. Somehow.. this problem is more common with british players as they almost always fall into the same trap.. which is buying into their own hype ie david bentley. Doesnt help too that someone so young, who, honestly.. hasnt done crap in his career is now the Welsh Captain.. go figure!!

Fault is with Arsene.. sort it out!!

Keyboard warriors, dont you just love em, pushing out rubbish they would not dare to say face to face, from the safety of their bedroom.
Aaron is a star in the making who has overcome a terrible injury, Michael I truly hope for your parents sake you recover from your problems as well as Rambo has.

ur a knob mate, ramsey might have had some bad games but i thing u cant take away from him is that even when we had our bad run, he was at least he still was puttin in the effort n trying to make something happen. once agaib ur a knob

Too stupid for words. Look at the goals that he's scored for us. Important goals.

He'll get back to form - he just needs support. You ain't no gunner and you don't deserve to follow this club or support this team.

I agree with your post. His passing range is not good enough, he does not have pace and for an attacking midfield player, cannot take players on and does not make runs into the box enough (a la fabregas), He will struggle for a place in the team once Wilshire is back as the midfield trio would be Arteta, Song and Wilshire (assuming Wenger keeps the same formation for next season) and also assuming that he keeps AOC as a wide player (as we all saw against Milan what he can do playing in the middle).

i think Ramsey is too selfish for midfield player..

The autor's a clueless plastic. Ramsey is quality and one of the best midfielder's of his age. Henderson cost the scousers £29m and isnt fit to lace Aaaron's boots.

You clearly do not watch Arsenal regularly, or if you do, you have no idea what you are watching.

    Stick to lacrosse you twit.

Fairweather fan... Go find a beach and bury your head please.

Ramsey is just a waste..i dont recall him being any better before his injury...Eduardo was sold...why not Ramsey....

Eduardo was injured...no one waited...he was sold..why not ramsey????

    fuck u........
ramsey has been through a very tough time

    BEST ARTICLE EVER POSTED !

    RAMSY IS A WASTE !!

SELL HIM. GIVE HIM FOR FREE. LOAN HIM FOR 10 YEARS.
HE WAS NEVER AND WILL NEVER BE QUALITY.

STOP BLAMMING INJURIES OR DEVELOPEMNET RUBBISH.

TALENT IS EITHER PRESENT OR ABSENT.

WE NEED A QUALITY TEAM AND NOT CHARITY CASE.

RAMSY IS A WASTE. A SHAMEFUL FLOP AND A BURDON TO ANY ARSENAL FAN.

ANY BLIND FOOL ASKING HIM TO STAY IS ACCEPTING ARSENAL TO ALWAYS BE MID TABLE TEAM !

    Sell Ramsy yesterday !!!!!

WHY DID MANU WANT HIM IF HE WAS A WASTE

I think the author is a bit impatient in my opinion but he is onto something. We should not let ramsey go yet as im sure he will improve with time. He has been through a tough time but so has ben arfa from newcastle and he is scoring and running defenders raged. No excuses, you need to give top performances at arsenal to merit a starting berth.
