It's time Wenger's Welsh Wizard waves goodbye to North London

Many, many fellow Gooners will disagree with what I have to say, but I feel that this Summer Arsene Wenger should cash in on inconsistent midfielder Aaron Ramsey while he still has some value.

Yes it could come back to haunt Arsene but this season Ramsey has been blowing hot and cold, and far too often it has been the latter.

On Sunday he only came on for the remaining 12 minutes but during that time he managed to squander a superb chance to double Arsenal's lead when he selfishly blazed wide with Robin Van Persie in acres of space.

Of course for a while fans of the Welsh captain could point to his horrific injury he received at Stoke last season which I agree affected him on his return, but it has been over a year since his comeback and that excuse has long gone.

Registering just three goals from midfield in 39 appearences is not an amazing record from someone who gets as many chances as Ramsey does and with Tomas Rosicky's improving form and Alex Song's consistently superb performances Ramsey is becoming the weak link of the midfield trio.

I am sure that when Jack Wilshere finally returns from injury Wenger will go with Song holding midfield and Rosicky and Wilshere playing just in front.

He cost the club £5,000,000 when we took him from Cardiff nearly four years ago and now his value is probably still above what we paid for him, but if his performances this season continue through to next then it will drop, rapidly.

If Wenger was to sell the former Bluebird and invest the money in improving the squad then I for one would be delighted.

Thanks for all you have done Aaron, but for me, your time gracing the Emirates pitch is up.

He may have sqandered the chance in an already won game but he made the opening himself. Why not give him credit for the goals he has scored? And why not give him a chance because he doesn't always start in every game? He was really finding his form before the injury and will reach it again, given more time. He is still one for the future.

Aaron obviously has many admirers however I`m not one of them and before someone asks my age I`m 77 years old `sunshine` lol

Don't think selling rambo will b wise. Despite da fact he is inconsistant nd missed awful chance against city which he shouldn't but let's not 4get he is only 20 has long career ahead of him, has fabulous technical passing ability . Won't b long to find his best nd deliver.

We'll take him off you unappreciative Arsenal fans who castigate him for having patchy form following a career-threatening injury. When he turns out to be a world class midfielder at least you'll have the likes of the ageing and inconsistent Rosicky to keep you going.

    1. WRITING EVERYTHING IN CAPITALS MAKES YOU LOOK MORONIC!

    2. Ramsey is a sensational talent and will form the greatest Arsenal midfield pairing with wilshere we have ever had at the club.

    3. Please stop writing idiotic rants, you clueless, imbecilic, juvenile, ignoramus.

    4. Armchair supporters like you should truly have no voice.

Excellent and honest comment. Get rid of Ramsey, we have seen enough of his flap and we are sick of that guy.

eduardo got injured, he was shipped away. ramsey was injured, why not ship him away? where's the consistency here? i just want you gooners to note one thing....van persie is not the man we know with ramsey on his side; just look at his body language and you'll get what i mean. i agree with mr. cox, the ram should go.

mate you suck...ramsey is a wonder boy...be patient...

I remember Fabregas at one time saying Ramsey made him worry for his starting place, obviously before the horrific leg break. I've seen Ramsey steadily improve this season in one of the most complex positions on the pitch, he has one of the best pass acuracy stats in the league and if he had'nt missed the chances he did this season we would be lauding him as the next big thing. His shooting will improve as will his all round game, I think you should re-read this article in two to three years my friend, i feel you will feel a little bit silly.

this one the worst article i have read from an arsenal fans' blog. just because he's having a blip in form doesn't make him useless. where were u when rosicky hit his form again this season. something he's struggled to do for months now. please don't just write articles for writing sake, just be sensible wen writing else close this thing u call a blog.
    pissssssssses!

Popular theme at the moment? I have my own thoughts on Ramsey.

1, He came back from injury for his first full season into an Arsenal side that had made its worst start for years.
2, Pressure to play too often due to lack of alternatives, at the time.
3, No time to develop confidence in his play, so development halted.
4, Then played in out of position.
5, Adding to some fans frustration, being played ahead of merit to the team, when better(/) alternatives exist.

That is the basic scenario that has brought about this question. However, most of the above he had no control over, and, as has been pointed out he is still young enough to fulfil his early promise. What he needs is time ...
I cannot go along with some of the comments above, but I do think a good loan period away from the critics would help him, more than anything else, find out what sort of footballer he can be.
Less of the vitriol, to both sides of this divide, please

watch from 1:23 as soon as he tweeks them shooting boots your talking another lampard, give the kid a break his 21 in his first full season.... ANYONE REMEMBER ALEX SONG! WORST PLAYER IN ARSENALS HISTORY SOME PEOPLE WERE SAYING... NOW LOOK AT HIM... totally pathetic

You might call the writer names, but i strongly support selling Ramsey if he fail to improve next season. I thought i was the only one observing it, good that people have started noting what i saw far too early in the season. Ramsey hold the ball too long and Arteta does the same. One of them need to be driving the ball into the opponent's box and that is what Rosicky brings to Arsenal. Rosicky always have the skill but Wenger was not giving him the opportunity.

If Ramsey will release the ball on time, he will be a good player and if he intend to replace Fabrigas, he need to look for shortest possible ways of releasing the ball fast and be forward minded instead of majorly going backward or being at a spot.

Another player i have spoken about that seem not accepted is Diaby. I am not saying they should sell him, but he dribbles too much and it is causing him injuries. I notice that when he gets ball, the first thing that come to his mind is to dribble. He need to reduce it.

Arsenal midfielders, we are not taking opportunities that comes to us. They want wide space before they can throw pass therefore they rigmarole at a spot when Rosicky is not playing (this is what make Barcelona different; they give pass in wide and narrow spaces. Please we need to win trophy next year.

Time to show you're worth your money Aaron, get your shit together. And stop slowing down all our attacks.

it is time for him to leave. bye bye Aaron.......

What a load of rubbish, Ramsey will be one of the top midfielders in Europe in a couple of sesons.

Only read the title and I can tell this is a completely ridiculous article.

ok was not going to post anything but i had to seeing some of the anti-ramsey statements. first of all let me say since last year ive been telling people Ramsey is the weakest link. and the day Wenger put Rosicky instead of him we won 7-1 at blackburn or something. the fact is he is currently our weakest link but I doubt it will be for long. ive been one of his critics as pointed out, his decision making is very poor, he holds the ball to long etc. BUT all that said it would be insane to sell him. ive actually noticed improvement in his game at wolves, yes he did have his faults in that game but not compared to his track record. For once i liked the fact that he was not passing the ball backwards as much as he usually does whenever he is pressed but he'd try to find space or a team mate to push forward. that to me is a sign that he is learning from his mistakes. the fact that he finds himself in shooting spaces is 1 out of 3. at least his positioning is spot on. the finishing will come. the lesson here for wenger as he has demonstrated by playing Benayoun when points are needed is that he should not learn at the expense of the team. HE SHOULD BE BENCHED, given cameo appearances and lead carling cup or something cos he is clearly trying to prove he is over his injury and hence he messes up his play alot cause subconciously he has, we have put him under pressure. His composure will come. i thought we'd learn by now how many players we've had to wait for RVP himself, Song, Koscielny, and recently theo and that in a game in which he was utterly rubbish in a first half and we called for his head. so hush hush Wenger knows what he is doing, in practice he might be getting it right but poorly executing on the stage,

Standing by players like Ramsey is what puts Arsenal in a class above many of our rivals. We are not heartless bastards and If you would like to be, the richer side of Manchester will welcome you with open arms.

Have you learnt nothing from rosicky and Rvp, by your logic they shouldn't have been given a chance. Give the guy a chance and SUPPORT your team!

What a stupid article - plenty of other players we need to ger rid of first.

WBA18 most arsenal fans want to keep him. Ramsey is gonna be a huge star I'm sure of it. Shame some fans have no sentiment for what he's been through. As someone has previously stated arsenal is aclub with class. We have loyalty towards our players rather than dump them at the first sign of faltering and won't scarrifce that for anything.

What a joke you are, Rambo is young and was overused in the early part of the season. If we'd had a fully fit squad he performances would have been consistently great.

What a load of old tosh this post is.
