The Premier League needs Ollie (Video)

New Crystal Palace boss Ian Holloway may be well known for his famous outbursts, but the Bristolian is also a talented manager.

Having just arrived at Selhurst Park to replace Dougie Freedman, who has departed for Bolton, Holloway will hope to continue the good form the side had been enjoying under the former Palace striker.

His new club are sitting comfortably in the play-off places, whilst former employers Blackpool are around mid-table.  Holloway proved his managerial capabilities when he guided the Tangerines to the holy land of the Premier League in 2009.  However, it hasn’t always been good times for the eccentric coach.  He took over at Bloomfield Road following a year out of the game, after suffering a disastrous campaign in charge at Leicester City which saw the Foxes relegated to the third division.

During his solitary season managing in the top flight, we saw plenty of Holloway’s extraordinary interviews due to the extensive coverage of the Premier League.  After Blackpool were relegated on the final day of the 2010/11 season, he was so close to taking the Seasiders straight back up in May this year, before a cruel play-off final defeat by West Ham denied him the opportunity.

Having been out of the spotlight for a couple of years, perhaps it is time for the man affectionately known as Ollie to make his return to the big time.  Now faced with the challenge at Crystal Palace, he has a great chance to do exactly that.

    Personalities and "Big Clubs".
I suppose "Big Mal" was Palaces best known personality.
    Now "Ollie".
Can he take Palace across the "Big Club" line?
Considering even Liverpool are striving to cross that line since Shankly and Man City (Even now) are not sure they have made it yet - it will be interesting if "Ollie" can astound the football world with this one!
