Blackburn Rovers: Premier League champions (Video)

I still maintain that Blackburn Rovers winning the Premier League in 1995 is one of the single most incredible achievements in English football. They even added the extra drama of losing on the final day to Liverpool just to make it even more spectacular. You can count how many teams have won the Premier League on one hand and the fact that Blackburn are one of those is astounding.

There were helped, of course, by Alan Shearer at his absolute best and the strike partnership he built with Chris Sutton was one of the finest. How the might have fallen, though. Newly relegated Rovers lie fifth in the Championship table and are undergoing a change in managers as former player Henning Berg will overlook his first game in charge this weekend following the Steve Kean era. An era many Rovers fans will want to forget.

Whilst they fight to gain promotion back to the Premier League, here is a chance for Rovers fans to reminisce about that fine day in May 1995 where Shearer lifted the trophy to give Blackburn their first title in 81 years.
