Rio Ferdinand

I personally think that Ferdinand is past his sell-by date and with him being out of contract in the summer it is the perfect time to give him the boot and structure the future of the United defence around the likes of Phil Jones or Chris Smalling.

Ferdinand is renowned for his calm, laid-back approach to the game in which he likes to play nice football and knock it out from the back, but his ageing legs has meant that he has become a bit of a liability.

For me the Old Trafford club already have a number of players who are stronger options than the former England skipper, and the longer he is at the club the worse he is going to get.

His reading of the game is still impressive, but when you turn slower than a delivery truck and are about as quick as one too, it's hard to carry out what you are planning on doing in your head.
