A Nice Blend Between The Players In The Squad

Looking at the Reds squad there is a evident balance amongst it and it's worked wonders this season. It is important to get the balance correct, both in terms of age and physical abilities.

The defenders are big, powerful outlets from Kolo Toure to Martin Skrtel, and even their full-backs are athletic players. Then, the further forward you get the more nimble the squad gets and it allows them to weave in and out and carry out a flexible approach.

There are also old heads in the ranks, with the likes of Steven Gerrard, Daniel Agger and Glen Johnson, but they are surrounded by younger players making their way in the game. Philippe Coutinho is 21, Raheem Sterling is 19 and Jon Flanagan is also still only 21, while a host of younger players have also taken part this season.

The harmony in the squad seems terrific and I think that will go a long way to securing fourth place for the Merseysiders.
