City's NDJ AC-Bound. DDR to replace?

AC Milan are likely to complete the surprise signing of Manchester City's Nigel De Jong before the transfer window shuts, according to the Italian club.

The Rossoneri revealed the Premier League Champions had accepted a bid in the region of 3.5 million euros for the Dutch defensive midfielder after a long period of negotiations.

Roberto Mancini, who has made no secret of his desire to bolster his squad ahead of the new campaign, may have to delve into the transfer market once more to replace De Jong, with only Gareth Barry, Jack Rodwell and Yaya Toure available.

A move for Daniele De Rossi may be resserected despite the Italian's desire to remain at Roma, with Mancini desperate to ease the blow of De Jong's departure.
