Mancini wants more signings

Roberto Mancini is confident that Manchester City will make more signings before the end of the transfer window.

The manager hopes to snap up a central defender and a central midfielder before the window shuts on Friday.

Mancini believes that the club needs to strengthen his squad to make progress in the Champions League after the club's disappointment in the competition last season.

The Italian boss also explained that the valuation of Javi Martinez put the midfielder out of his price range though he remains interested in the Athletic Bilbao player.

The manager also claims that the inflated prices in the transfer market have put him off many players this summer as so many targets have had their prices put up when City have shown an interest.
