    Wigan get a striker

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has been busy in the transfer market by signing Arouna Kone for £2.7 million.

The Ivorian hit-man, scorer of 17 goals in La Liga last season for a surprise Levante side, passed a medical at the DW on Tuesday and joins the Lancashire club on a three year deal.

Kone first experienced La Liga with Sevilla where he struggled for form, but a loan deal at Levante saw a return to his promise in front of goal and Wigan have taken full advantage.

Such a move is a profit for Levante as the Spanish club only took up a permanent option for the 28 year old this summer.
