Defoe doesn't want another year on bench

Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe has pleaded with new Spurs boss Andre Villas Boas not to subject him to another "heartbreaking" year on the bench.

Defoe managed to hit 17 goals for Spurs last year despite spending the majority of the time behind Emmanuel Adebayor in the White Hart Lane pecking order.

Now, with a number of clubs showing an interest, Defoe has said that he could be forced to consider his future should Villas Boas continue with Defoe out of the team.
