Midfielder returns to former club

A Tottenham midfielder has returned to his former club after failing to settle at White Hart Lane.

Steven Pienaar has rejoined Everton on a four-year deal for £4.5million after spending the last half of last season on loan at Goodison Park.

The South African failed to settle in London and has returned to Merseyside after just 18 months away from the club.

The 30 year old told the Toffees' official website: “I am happy to be here. It took a few weeks to sort out but I am delighted to be back and excited to play for Everton. There was no doubt in my mind that I would be back here. At the end of the season, I told the manager how I felt and I am happy now it is all done."
