    Veteran Chelsea midfielder eager to agree new contract

    A veteran Chelsea midfielder is keen to agree a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

    Frank Lampard has stated his desire to stay at the club beyond next summer when his current contract runs out.

    34-year-old Lampard has been linked with a move to LA Galaxy to hook up with ex-England teammate David Beckham put the midfielder has stated that he wants to stay in West London.

    He said: "Chelsea will always be my club regardless of what happens now in terms of my playing days.

    "I'd love to be able to offer the hand of experience and just be a presence there. But, in playing terms, I do need to feel I can do it. I wouldn't be fulfilled if I wasn't."

    The England international went on to explain how he feels the ball is in Chelsea's court as he is ready to get around the negotiating table whenever suits them.
