Frimpong charged with improper conduct over Tweet

Emmanuel Frimpong has been charged by the FA with improper conduct in relation to a recent Twitter post.

A statement from the FA read that the Arsenal midfielder had posted a comment “amounting to improper conduct and/or which brought the game into disrepute”.

The comment posted is believed to have “included a reference to ethnic origin, faith or race.”

Frimpong has until 4pm on July 27 to respond to the charge.

The incident is alleged to have referred to a conversation on the social networking site between Frimpong and a Tottenham Hotspur fan.

Frimpong quickly deleted the offending message but it sparked a debate on Twitter and led to the charge of improper conduct.

An Arsenal statement said that the midfielder will respond to the charge and that he has been reminded of his responsibilities by the club.
