Belgian wants “dream” move to the Premiership

Axel Witsel has made a come and get me plea to the Premiership big boys.

The combative midfielder must now leave current club Standard Liege in order to “grow” according to his father Thierry Witsel.

He said 'I personally hope that this was his last season with Standard as he needs to grow and to do it he needs to leave the country,' Witsel Snr told Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

'He doesn’t have a specific target but he has a dream and it’s called Arsenal, but this doesn’t mean that he’s not open to other clubs.'

The promising youngster was voted young football of the year back in 2008 and already has 2 league winners’ medals to his name, along with the Belgian cup and 2 Belgian Super Cups.

The 22-year old has been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool in the past and has a price tag off around £9million.
