Diego Capel braced for bids from Liverpool and abroad

Back to Mirror Football now who claim that Spanish winger Diego Capel, who currently plies his trade with Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon, is set to be a target for Liverpool but will face competition from Ligue 1 side Marseille.

Capel has previously been linked with the likes of Tottenham in the past and reds fans will be hoping that this link will be followed through by Brendan Rodgers and friends at Anfield, as the £10million rated star would fit perfectly into the manager's style of play.

As they say, if the cap fits it wear it. And Capel would certainly wear it well at Anfield as the schemer received his footballing education in Barcelona's youth development programme no less and will bring sexy-football back one step closer to the famous English side.

However Marseille have also been window-shopping for a new cap and is set to try and pick up a bargain themselves as the Ligue 1 grows from strength to strength, with purse-strings seemingly growing larger since the arrival of mega-rich Paris Saint-Germain.

Sporting themselves are ready to do business as the side currently find themselves in financial plight however will surely only sell to the highest bidder, and the handbags could be out should both sides' wallets both open in the summer at the till...
