Both Arsenal and Newcastle have been linked with the 23-year-old, who has earned himself an ever growing reputation this term with 17 goals in 30 Ligue 1 appearance. Little wonder that he has been coveted by a raft of top European clubs in recent months.

It is no secret that Arsene Wenger would love to add further firepower to his Arsenal attack, while Newcastle supremo Alan Pardew is allegedly eager to bolster his options after selling Demba Ba to Chelsea in the January transfer window.

Sources in Italy have ran with the story that the Milan giants are interested in the player, who began his international career at French youth level, before opting to represent Gabon, from which his family heralds.

Fierce rivals AC were also reported to be interested, although said interest is now thought to have cooled.

If Inter wish to steal a march on Arsenal and Newcastle it is thought that they will have to fork out something in the region of 12 million euros, as a bid of 10 million euros has already been refused, allegedly.
