Spanish playmaker could be Premier League bound

Premier League clubs are set to pounce for 26 year old Spaniard Benat Etxeberria, with the player looking to engineer a move away from current club Real Betis in order to further his international ambitions.

The player's current deal at Betis runs until the summer of 2014, and as such the club are looking to cash in on the player, with a clutch of clubs sniffing around the man who has been capped four times by the World Champions.

His value currently stands at a reported 15 million euros, but he has recently slipped out of the plans of national coach Vincente Del Bosque. Having spent his full career at Betis, Etxeberria is now looking elsewhere to further cement himself within the Spanish set up. Both Manchester City and Chelsea are reportedly interested.

Despite stating that he would sign a new deal to stay at the club in February, the player's representative Jose Vicente Biurrun has now gone public to say that his player wants to showcase his talents to one wider stage, to a broader audience, ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Rio next summer. ESPN reports him to have said:

"Benat's future is, probably, far away from Seville. We are not going to wait until his contract runs out, but we will look for a club at the very top level where Benat can play regularly and show what he can do before the World Cup.

"Making the World Cup squad is a dream. That is why we are looking for a big team."
