No big reunion for AVB and Uruguayan full back

Andre Vilas-Boas it seems can't have made a huge impression on Alvaro Pereira, with the Uruguayan - according to The Metro - not interested in a reunion with his ex boss. The pair shared a more than successful spell together at Porto which cumulated in an unbeaten campaign that saw them also clinch the Europa League.

Rumours linking the full back with Tottenham are nothing new given that back in what seems an age ago when AVB was managing Chelsea the same rumours were rife yet nothing ever materialised. The rumours are that Benoit Assou Ekotto who was virtually an ever present under Harry Redknapp yet has found chances limited this season, was set to be offered as part of an exchange deal.

According to the report, Pereira has been impressed by his short stay at Inter and in particular the sides willingness to win, although you can only wonder if that one has been lost in translation given that there are not many clubs around who don't want to win. As for AVB, whilst the full back would no doubt be an asset he has bigger dealings to sort out, most notably locking Gareth Bale away until the window shuts and finding a striker who actually looks like they want to score goals as apposed to Emmanuel Adebayor.
