Mother talks up Cavani move

Manchester City will be hoping that Edinson Cavani preaches to the theory that mothers know best, with ESPN Soccernet reporting that the players mother has been talking up a move for her son to the Ethiad. That said the striker is hardly likely to be enthused about his mum blabbing to Uruguayan radio station of his apparent plans, particularly given that he himself indicated he was happy at Napoli earlier on in the week.

A move for Cavani has been muted for some time so these stories are nothing new, particularly when you take into account that it is no secret that City will be looking to go all out to redesign their stagnated squad. Cavani is the leading scorer by some way in Serie A and it is likely that if you offered Roberto Mancini one player then Cavani would be that one, if the forwards mum is to be believed that desire could well be mutual.

The Uruguayan is not going to be coming cheap with ridiculous figures being muted but then Napoli are not exactly in a need to sell and they will know that Manchester City have the funds to meet even the most ludacrous of valuations.
