West Ham look towards African striker

It seems Andy Carroll will not be extending his loan deal, nor switching Liverpool for West Ham permanently, but apparently the Hammers are close to signing the big Ivorian forward, Wilfried Bony.

Due to the new financial fair play rules, West Ham cannot afford the £17 million price tag that Liverpool have slapped on him, albeit, they would be taking £18 million loss on the Englishman, but seeing as the potential that was paid for has not prevailed just as yet. So instead of the £80,000 a week pony-tailed front man, West Ham are apparently close to striking with Dutch club Vitesse Arnhern for Wilfried Bony. With 26 goals in 24 games this season, also netting 10 of them in his last 6 games, he has certainly proved he can do it for the Dutch team as they chase Champions League football.

Since his transfer from the Czech Republic team, Sparta Prague in 2011, he has scored a total of 46 times in 63 outings for Vitesse, the team which he is contracted to for another 2 years. Apparently, he tried to force a move to the London club in January, but was deemed to valuable to let go half way during the campaign. I know it’s just lazy journalism to compare him to Drogba, due to him being Ivorian, muscular and a strike but I genuinely think he is the closest to the ex-Chelsea striker I have seen, but I may be proved wrong and West Ham may knock the goal scoring capabilities out of him, you never know, maybe he will light up the Olympic Stadium when West Ham move their and assist in their bid to become a powerhouse in the Premier League again. Hammers for the Champions League, anyone?#
