Laudrup eyes loan move for Chelsea striker

The Daily Mirror claim that Romelu Lukaku is indifferent to the prospect of spending sustained periods on the bench and will request another season long loan away from Stamford Bridge, with his current deal at West Brom expiring in May. Michael Laudrup and his Swansea outfit have emerged as potential suitors for the Belgian striker, with the opportunity for Lukaku to progress himself further through Europa League experience.

Lukaku, who joined Chelsea for a reported £17million in 2011, has thrived under the assurance of regular football this season at The Hawthorns. The full Belgian international has produced displays typified with raw power and pace, as well as the provision of a respectable 13 goals. Since scoring on his debut on the opening day, a 3-0 victory over Liverpool, the 19 year old has been pivotal within Steve Clark’s successful first season with The Baggies.

Furthermore, the January departure of Danny Graham to Sunderland has undoubtedly left the Carling Cup winners thin on the ground with regards to forward options. Swansea have been over reliant on the 17 league goals of Michu this season, and will be keen to take some pressure off their Spanish forward. It is unconceivable to think that Laudrup won’t strengthen his striking department over the summer months, and the signing of the powerful Lukaku would represent a great addition at The Liberty stadium, even if only on a short term basis.
