Brendan Rodgers is after a new Honda

Now this one has been doing the rounds for a while. Keisuke Honda to Liverpool; we’ve all heard this one before right? Good.
Fortunately it has all got a bit more interesting for Honda is now a ‘contract rebel’ report The Metro. How exciting.
With just four months left on his current contract the Japan international has told his side CSKA Moscow that he doesn’t wish to sign a new contract and will move on in the summer.
We tried to extend his contract, but we can’t force him,’ confessed director Roman Babaev.
‘It is up to him what happens next.’
Apparently this is music to Brendan Rodgers ears and the Red’s boss will now try to sort out a pre-contract deal with the 26-year-old.
The singing of the talented playmaker may not necessarily fit with Liverpool’s transfer policy of buying young and British - but then Honda is, you know, actually rather good - unlike a lot of Liverpool’s previous purchases. Well done guys, you might be learning.
Honda is capable of playing anywhere along the front line and would really boost the depth of Liverpool’s attacking talent. A line up including Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturridge, Phillippe Coutinho, Steven Gerrard and Honda himself would certainly not be lacking in firepower and could be just what Rodger’s needs to propel his underperforming side up the table.
Oh, and headline writers across the land would have a field day, don’t forget the important things Brendan.
