Manchester City linked with Barcelona winger

Manchester City are lining up a move for Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez, who has struggled to establish himself at Barcelona, according to Mirror Football

Sanchez has struggled to settle with the Catalan giants since moving from Udinese for 26 million euros in 2011, a move which ended a mad scramble among Europe's elite to sign the highly-rated man. If a fee similar to that can be negotiated then the Spanish club are thought to be willing to allow the 24 year old to leave in the summer.

When Barcelona negotiated the deal for Sanchez it was thanks in part to sporting director Txiki Begiristain. Two years on Begiristain now holds the same position at the Etihad, a fact that strengthens City's hopes of capturing the player.

Inter Milan have allegedly already made a bid for Sanchez, while Liverpool and Arsenal have been loosely linked with him. It is not difficult to believe that Sanchez will have plenty of suitors drooling over his signature, should the speculation over his future be true.

Should the move come off, Sanchez would link up with former Barcelona man Yaya Toure at the Etihad who, despite much speculation over his future, looks set to pen a new deal with City.
