Overmars states the obvious about Liverpool

Today's prize for telling us some news we already know goes to Marc Overmas, with ESPN Soccernet reporting that the Dutchman has revealed that Liverpool are keen on Christian Eriksen. Danish midfielder Eriksen has been persistently linked with a move to a whole host of clubs in recent months, with Liverpool often never being a few columns inches away every time his name is mentioned.

So with that in mind we can't say Overmars has really shocked anyone with his revelations, only reinforced what we already knew. Eriksen it seems is destined to leave Ajax this term and with just one year remaining on his deal it seems technical director Overmars is ready to talk up interest in the clubs prized asset in order to gain the highest transfer fee the club possibly can for the player.

Eriksen would most certainly tick all of Brendan Rodgers desired boxes given his supreme ability on the ball and the fact that he posses creativity in bucket loads, further to this he is at exactly the right stage of his development for the Rodgers revolution.

Ajax now look to have given up keeping their talented Dane and with that in mind they will be looking to work the market as much as they can to generate a good deal and it would appear that alerting others of the Liverpool interest is Overmars doing exactly that.
