Liverpool to move for Ajax star

Mirror Football are reporting how Liverpool are hoping that existing connections will stand them in good stead in their bid to land highly rated Ajax star Christian Eriksen.

The reds are no strangers to dealing with the Amsterdam giants, having purchased Luis Suarez from them in 2011. Boss Brendan Rodgers is hoping that this will work in the Anfield side's favour as they look to head an ever growing queue for the widely coveted Dane.
Liverpool scouts have been watching Eriksen for some considerable time, reports Mirror Football. The most recent of these scouting missions saw Eriksen running out for Denmark, for whom he has already amassed 35 caps, in their recent fixtures against the Czech Republic and Bulgaria.
Speculation has grown over Eriksen's future at Ajax after he turned down the offer of a new contact. His current deal runs out next summer, meaning that Ajax are supposedly keen to cash in on the player in the coming months, if an agreement cannot be reached.
Liverpool are not alone in their interest, as they are alleged to be competing with the likes of Inter Milan and Spurs for his signature. Chelsea have also been sporadically linked  with the player, but managerial uncertainty may de-rail their bid.
Rodgers will be hoping that Eriksen's relationship with Denmark captain, and Liverpool defender, Daniel Agger will  help swing the move in their favour.
On the possibility of a move Eriksen was tentative: "I don't know if I be an Ajax player after the summer - we will see what happens. I don't exclude anything."
