Could want-away City star be Russia bound?

After his, alleged, admission that he wishes to leave Eastlands, Yaya Toure is being lined up by super rich Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala, reports the Daily Mail

The Ivorian midfielder's reservations over recent contract talks has alerted the interest of a bevy of European clubs, for the obvious reason that he is one of the most powerful and athletic players on the planet.

Moreover it has been rumoured that the player's agent, Dimitri Seluk, set an unofficial deadline of yesterday for City to successfully negotiate a new deal with the player, who joined City for £24 million from Barcelona in 2010.

Toure does still have two years to run on his present deal, it was only a matter of months ago that he declared his desire to remain in the North West, but the stalling of an extension to his £222,000 a week deal has supposedly jeopardised this harmony.

Anzhi are one of the few clubs who would be willing to improve upon Toure's current deal, as other potential suitors such as Real Madrid and Chelsea would not go higher than his current pay.

Zenit St Petersburg and Paris Saint Germain would be other names thrown in to the hat should Toure, who fired the winner in the 2011 FA Cup Final victory against Stoke, be allowed to move.
