Juve reignite their search for a world class striker

Last summer, Juventus chased the likes of Robin van Persie and Luis Suarez, among others, with the hope of adding the final piece of the puzzle to their already world class squad.

Juventus' 3-5-2 formation has worked wonders both in the Serie A and Champions League, and their first team boasts excellent defenders and world class midfielders, but they a world class striker or two away from potentially becoming the best side in club football - or at least having a good shout for that title. And it's safe to say that their summer acquisition of Nicklas Bendtner was certainly NOT the answer.

They will reportedly attempt to plug that hole by reigniting their interest in Liverpool and Uruguay forward Luis Suarez, after seeing a move fall through last summer when the Uruguayan opted to extend his contract through to 2018. Juventus will be hoping, however, that an offer of €30m (£25.6m) will be enough to convince the Reds to sell their resident BPL top scorer. Liverpool fans will not take too kindly to this offer, and it is likely that Liverpool's management will take the same stance. If Juventus really want Suarez, I reckon they'll have to stump up another €10m at the very least, if not more. For Liverpool to let a player of that class go without a fight would be a real tragedy, and a massive blow to Brendan Rodgers' hopes of getting his club competing right at the top of the table once again.
