United consider Modric move

Now, here’s one that makes sense. The Metro are reporting that Manchester United are planning on bringing Luka Modric back to England.
The Croatian has struggled since making his big money move to Real Madrid and was voted worst signing of the season by Spanish newspaper Marca.
United have previously been linked with Modric before he made his £33m switch to the Bernabeau and could now capture him for a reduced fee.
Apparently the 26-year-old told friends he would cut short his stay in Spain if the Premier League table toppers came calling. Presumably the chance to play alongside Tom Cleverley would be too much resist.
In all seriousness, Modric should flourish in United’s midfield. Michael Carrick has finally begun earning praise this season for his efforts as a deep lying playmaker, but at 31 may be nearing the end of his time at the top. Modric is clearly a superior player to Carrick and could dictate proceedings from the middle of the park surrounded by a host of talented players.
Modric did score a fantastic goal in Madrid’s 2-1 victory over United in the Champions League last week and was praised by veteran midfielder Ryan Giggs.
‘It was brilliant by Luka Modric,’ said the Welsh veteran.
‘There’s not a lot you can do, going down to 10 men. Carra [Michael Carrick] was in the back four and he had to come out to Modric, close him down, whereas if we’d had 11, he would have been there probably.
‘Take nothing away from Modric, it was a great goal.’
