Rodgers to look to Feghouli exorcise poor season?

Cash-strapped Spaniards Valencia have this week been subject to an enquiry from Liverpool over their Algerian midfielder Sofiane Feghouli, according to Mirror Football. The Reds are looking to take advantage of the Spanish clubs' plight as they attempt to bolster their own squad.
The midfielder, who would negotiate work permit trouble due to a French passport, has been sounded out by Reds' scouts for a number of weeks and the club now look set to offer £9 million for the player. A stumbling block may present itself in the shape of the new contract that they player penned in January. The deal runs until the summer of 2016.
With this in mind Valencia may look for an increased fee of around £13 million, but Liverpool are not willing to go this high, particularly with Xabi Alonso potential becoming available in the summer.
French club Paris Saint Germain are also reported to be keen on the player, and would have little trouble stretching to the £13 million price tag to capture the defensively minded midfielder.
One thing that is certain is that should Rodgers' capture Feghouli, the move would be under huge pressure to come off. Big money moves for Charlie Adam, Jordan Henderson and Joe Allen have all underwhelmed the Anfield faithful in recent years, meaning that Feghouli would have to hit the ground running to justify the mooted fee.
