Thomas aims for future with Blues

Having previously enjoyed success in the lower leagues of English football, Wes Thomas is hoping to earn himself a permanent deal at Birmingham City.

According to Sky Sports, the striker wants to show what he can during his loan spell at St Andrew’s.  He is aware, however, that any chance of moving to the club permanently is dependent on his performances.

The 26-year-old started his senior career at Waltham Forest, scoring 17 goals in 32 games.  A couple of years later he impressively matched that tally in the Conference South with Fisher Athletic, despite playing fewer games.

Never really settling anywhere for more than a season or so, Thomas has constantly been on the move throughout his career.  Since joining the Football League by signing for Dagenham & Redbridge in 2008, he has played for a further eight clubs, including six loan spells.  The striker initially joined his current parent club Bournemouth on loan from Crawley Town, but a convincing seven goals in 14 games during the first half of last season saw the Cherries snap him up permanently in January 2012.

The most times Thomas has found the net during a league campaign is 18, which he achieved in his 41 appearances for Cheltenham Town in 2010/11.  This was also the most games he has played in a single season, but he still finished with an impressive scoring record of almost one in two.

If regular playing time is all Thomas needs, will he get it at Birmingham?
