    Juventus wanted Jovetic

Having often been linked with a move to the Premier League, Fiorentina chairman Mario Cognigni has said that Stevan Jovetic is not going anywhere.

According to Sky Sports, the Montenegrin striker is a target for Juventus, with talk of them making a big money move for him in January.  The Florence club are said to have rejected the approach, which reportedly involved Alessandro Matri and Michele Pazienza heading the other way.

Still only 23 years of age, Jovetic has his whole career ahead of him.  He has been at Fiorentina since 2008, but interest from the reigning Serie A champions could be tempting enough for him to consider a move.

For someone so young, Jovetic has a range of incredible feats to his name.  He quickly established himself in the game and was a founding member of the Montenegro national team, which was formed in 2007 when he was just 17 years old.  Beginning his senior career at Partizan Belgrade, he was handed the armband at the age of 18 to become the Serbian club’s youngest ever captain.

After shining so early, Jovetic suffered a serious injury that ruled him out of the whole of 2010/11 season.  However, since making his comeback the following year he has reminded everyone of his ability and why he previously attracted the attention of Europe’s top clubs.
