No loan clause in Lukaku agreement

West Brom manager Steve Clarke has confirmed that a loan clause in Romelu Lukaku’s contract is a load of rubbish.
Reports have suggested that if Lukaku played a certain amount of games in the 2013/13 season then his loan deal would be extended into next season. However Clarke has made it quite clear that if West Brom want to extend the loan of Lukaku then they would have to negotiate with Chelsea over the matter.
The young Belgian has certainly impressed at the Hawthorns this season having scored nine goals in the league so far. However early indications suggest that the loan deal won’t be extended as the 19 year-old has expressed that he wants to rejoin Chelsea in the summer.
He has broken into the national squad as well having scored 3 goals so far for his country and maybe the fact that he can play for his country and in the Premier League may just convince his parent club that he is worth keeping.
Having proved himself at West Brom and having found first team football Lukaku believes that now he has proven himself in the Premier League he can return to Chelsea in the summer and become a legend at the club, one thing for sure age is certainly on his side as he is yet to reach 20 and he has already played 30 times in the Premiership.
