Bent the latest target of Galatasary radar

Where did it all go wrong for Darren Bent? Seemingly in a space of less than 12 months Bent has gone from one of the leagues most potent goalscorers to a player who cannot break into the first team at lowly Aston Villa.

The rumours were that a move away in January was imminent however following nothing more than a sniff of a Villa Park escape route for the player who has scored a 100 Premier League, leaving Bent to somehow force his way into Paul Lambert's plan. The Sun are however reporting that Galatasary might just be ready to dangle the former England man that escape rope he is looking for.

Prior to his move to Villa Bent was only second to Wayne Rooney in the list of English goalscorers during his time with Sunderland, however despite a decent start his best form has deserted him and it seems Paul Lambert has chosen the all round play of Christian Benteke over him. Galatasary could therefore be set to test the waters and try to reignite the goalscorer within Bent, with it being believed that Villa are likely to now accept half of what they paid for Bent.

The Turkish side have been far from shy in making an audatious transfer swoop in recent months and given their ability to convince both Didier Drogba and Wesley Sneijder to join the club, they should therefore have no problems in tempting Bent to leave his bench warming role with Villa to join their Championship chasing side.
