Real Madrid monitor Hernandez

It must be a little frustrating being Javier Hernandez. Despite displaying a fantastic scoring record since his move to Manchester United – 47 goals in 107 games - the Mexican has never quite managed to install himself as a regular fixture in Sir Alex Ferguson’s starting line-up.
The nature of his game may well be that he offers goals, which are admittedly rather important in the modern game, and not a great deal else. But there is still the feeling that if Hernandez got his chance week in week out with a top side then he could really mature into one of the games deadliest strikers. Unfortunately with Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and even Danny Welbeck seemingly ahead of you in the line for starting berth things can be a little tricky.
So, according to the Daily Mirror, this is where Real Madrid come in. The current La Liga champions – for a little while longer anyway – have had a long-standing interest in the 24-year-old and apparently believe Hernandez would be a big hit in Spain due to his speed and marvellous finishing ability. They are monitoring Hernandez and are aware of his unrest at finding himself out of the side so often and could well consider a summer move.
If the deal does do ahead then it would make a United move for Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowksi much more likely. Fergie has had his eye on the Polish striker for quite some time, but probably can’t justify having five top forwards on his books whilst then central midfield is left unaddressed. Four though, four is just about right.
