Will United step up interest in Wanyama in the summer?

Manchester United tried, and failed, to sign midfield powerhouse Victor Wanyama in the January transfer window, with the Kenyan committing his future to Celtic until the end of the season, at which point he said 'the doors can be open for a move'. The question is, though, will United revitalise their interest in the young midfielder? And just as importantly, should they?
With Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs on their very last legs (no doubt they'll prove me wrong and continue for another season), and most of the younger midfielders in the side being of a more forward-thinking nature, it is almost essential that Sir Alex reinforces his central midfield with a bit of defensive grit - and Wanyama provides just that. And he's no slouch going forward either, notching up 6 goals this season.
In terms of price, naturally the Red Devils interest will increase his value. His current valuation is at around £10 million, but United will probably have to fork out closer to £15 million to sign the young Kenyan international. It would probably be worth it, as United's defence have had little or no cover from the midfield while they adjust to new players and the effects of multiple injuries. You see aside from Carrick - who's also getting on - the midfield... well... can't really defend. Scholesy - bless him - is a great passer, but he can't tackle to save his life, Kagawa is never in those positions, Fletcher can but he's out injured AND getting on, and the list goes on. The Red Devils have promising youth in defence, and a fantastic strike force, but the midfield is a little wimpy. Victor Wanyama is most certainly NOT.
