Odemwingie mad for West Brom exit

The craziness of Peter Odemwingie livened up a relatively quiet transfer deadline day, but the striker’s actions could have severe consequences back at the Hawthorns.

Unhappy with being refused permission to talk to QPR about a potential transfer, the Nigeria international decided to travel down to Loftus Road anyway.  Seen by many as an attempt to force through a move, QPR officials refused Odemwingie entry to the building and by the end of the night he remained a West Brom player.

According to Sky Sports, now facing the possibility of being disciplined by the club who he still has 18 months of a contract to see out with, Odemwingie has attempted to defend his trip to the capital.  However, whilst he has made it clear that he wishes to leave West Brom, the 31-year-old's motives for wanting to join the West London side are unknown.

The Baggies have had a promising first half to this season which has seen them flirting with the European places, whilst QPR currently remain at the foot of the table despite Harry Redknapp’s best efforts to drag them to safety.  Premier League survival is the only thing on the mind of Hoops fans, something which has often been the case for West Brom.  However, despite their reputation for bouncing up and down between the first and second tiers, Steve Clarke has done an excellent job at the Hawthorns thus far and the club are in no danger of the drop.

Odemwingie definitely has some explaining to do, but will apologies be enough to save his career in England?
