West Ham mulling over Inkoom move

If ever a player needs rescuing, it is Samuel Inkoom and if Sky Sports News are to be believed the 23-year-olds cry for help might have just been heard, with West Ham reported to be interested.
Inkoom was one of the brightest young African talents around, having played a key part in Ghana's quarter final World Cup run and having had a couple of successful years with Swiss side Basle.
Then it all went wrong as he agreed to a move to Ukrainian side Dnipro, who are currently managed by Juande Ramos (remember him?!). Inkoom has for whatever reason been exiled by the Spaniard, with his game time being so poor that he failed to make the cut for Ghana's current Cup of Nations squad therefore meaning no much needed respite from his Ukrainian nightmare.
West Ham fans might feel a little bit reluctant to sign a player who could not even make the Ghana squad, however Inkoom has not suddenly transformed into a bad player since his failed Ukrainian journey. With the Hammers struggling for defenders he would be a decent capture given that he can play either full back or centre back, whilst his pace would be a huge asset to their threadbare backline. Its also worth noting that so rated was he that only a year ago there were reports of several of Europe's bigger clubs being interested, that was until he was exiled out of the shop window by Ramos.
Inkoom stated the cold as one of the reasons for his dislike of his current club and whilst West Ham can't over him tropical African conditions they can at least provide him with the love that has been missing from his footballing life. He is not your typical heroin but if Big Sam does rescue Inkoom he might just find himself with a gem of a player on his hands.
